Certainly this verb is commonly used but let’s avoid any anglicism in a French translation file.

If you checked on Google Translate for upload, we would indeed have given the translation 'download'. Personally, I would have used 'uploader' as well to make the distinction between down/up.

If you use "uploader" you will be perfectly understood even if this word does not exist officially in French, and this is the case for quite a few words related to computer science. For example, the French academy recommends 'chat' (keyboard contraction and chatting) for 'to chat' (on an online lounge), but everyone says 'chatter', in France at least, it may be different in other French-speaking countries.
Téléverser is a neologism recognized by the French Academy.
It was formed from the TV prefix 'at a distance' and the word 'verser', which has the advantage of indicating a notion of direction: files are deposited on the remote server.
We can then distinguish the two actions of downloading and uploading and thus get rid of the English term "uploader"
